The Problem
For 15 years, ECOBRION was drowning. Fighting for Laguna La Reina’s survival while theworld looked the other way. Underfunded, unheard, unseen. A 20-square-mile ecosystem—and three communities—on the brink of vanishing. In 2020, ECOBRION stopped asking for help and started leading a movement. With WholeBranding and our TRISILIENCE™ Model, they declared war on apathy—and won.
Our Strategy
Build resilience, community power and financial independence. On February 2 2021, ECOBRION launched its “A Crown for the Queen” Project, which consists of six programs:
ECOHUMEDAL, aimed at the ecological restoration of the coastal wetlands and its mangrove ecosystem
UNIMANGLE, aimed at capacity building around coastal wetlands, ecosystem services, and biodiversity
JURISNORTE, aimed at drafting eco-legal instruments that support the protected status of Laguna La Reina
RECORUTAS, aimed at building local and international eco-tourism routes in the coastal wetland
ECOATARRAYA, aimed at consolidating cooperative and conservation structures for artisanal fishing in Laguna La Reina
ECOCONCHAS, aimed at mitigating the impacts generated by human activities related to construction in the Coastal Wetland.
To date, four programs are being implemented; they have received funding and recognition from different organizations like PPD Venezuela , the United Nations Development Programme UNDP and the Ocean Conservancy among others…
